Pruitt is Bad News for the EPA

Yesterday, President Elect Donald Trump selected Oklahoma attorney general Scott Pruitt as the head of the Environmental Protection Agency. Pruitt is a huge supporter to the fossil fuel industry and a leading critic of the Clean Power Program, which President Obama put in place to reduce carbon emissions.

Unfortunately, this appointment presents a difficult obstacle to the green activists in the U.S. and around the world. Already Trump is beginning to wipe away all of the work President Obama did with his environmental agenda.

Like, I don’t know how to say it… WHY DON’T THESE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT WE NEED TO CONVERT TO REUSABLE ENERGY. It is so incredibly frustrating to me that people still insist that it’s fine to continue to use fossil fuels. Why would you put so much time, energy, and money into extracting fossil fuels when you can get solar or wind power for FREE? Oh, right, its because the big oil companies are making millions. I usually don’t get too opinionated on this blog, because we can’t let political differences in the way of saving the planet. However, I started this blog for a reason, and I cannot stress enough how essential it is that we start taking better care of the earth.

While having Pruitt in charge of the EPA presents some disadvantages, we must remember that our voices matter.  Global warming, pollution, and other threats to the environment are becoming increasingly prevalent in our society. Pruitt and Trump present a deadly future for the environment and it is our responsibility to use our voices to prevent this from happening.

Sorry for the rant, and thank you for listening. I was really disheartened when I heard the news and had to vent. Also, it’s finals week for me, so my brain is about to explode. The next post will be a bit more light-hearted.
