My Promise

I now officially declare the Bee Green Project in progress!

Tomorrow I am going to begin documenting my journey to living a more sustainable life. Each week I am going to  adapt one “step” of the Green Guide into my daily life.  Essentially, I want to show people that living sustainably is actually possible. After all, I’m a poor college student living in a tiny apartment and eating ramen noodles for a meal several times a week; if I can do it, you can to! My goal is to be honest with this blog, so people can see the challenges, the mistakes, and triumphs. I promise to uphold my changes in lifestyle if you promise to make some too.

If there’s anyone out there reading this, I implore you to take a minute to look over the Green Guide. I cannot stress how important it is that we make change in our lives. Although you are only one person, contributing a fraction of a percent of damage to the earth, there are 7 billion people on the planet, and we all need nature to exist. However, we are creating millions of tons of waste and continuously tearing down natural habitats. It is up to each individual to decide to make an impact. So please, even if you make one change a day, week, or month, we all have to start progressing toward sustainable living. Be conscious about you consume, throw away, and indulge in, because it is easy to forget how many resources we burn through each day.

After weeks and weeks of planning, I am extremely excited to get this blog going. I am looking forward to documenting my lifestyle changes and I really hope that my readers can learn about their environmental impact and their responsibility to the earth. Whether or not I actually get any readers, I know that at least my changes will make a difference, and hopefully I can inspire at least a few other people to change as well.
